This clever and easy-to-use bucket strainer makes honey harvesting a breeze… or a buzz! One food grade 3½ gallon bucket rests inside a 5 gallon bucket. The smaller bucket has a fitted net strainer and holes drilled in the bottom allowing the honey to flow through, separating from the comb. The larger bucket is fitted with an easy open honey gate from Italy, allowing honey to flow easily into your jars below!

Before I bought the bucket strainer I was crushing comb in my kitchen and making a huge mess. With the bucket strainer I was able to extract honey in my backyard and it was a lot less messy. I was able to harvest more honey because I wasn't constantly getting it all over my hands and arms. The honey came out great, with no little pieces of comb to skim off the top.
Simple, well designed - works perfectly for urban beekeeper who has small space and moderate amount of honey to process
I have used it once and it worked great. The seal between the two buckets is pretty decent when its filled up with comb while it drains. I used two nylon bags, one in the top bucket and one pulled up on the bottom bucket. The bottom filter definitely helped strain it. However, the holes that were drilled on the top bucket left a lot of small plastic shavings still hanging on around the drilled holes. I used a light torch to remove the plastic shards which cleaned up the bucket real nice and made it smooth. The seal on the bottom works great. A little pricey for what its worth, but this is by far the cheapest method to harvest your honey and separate your wax. Would definitely recommend.
I opened the package, rinsed out the buckets, and started to pour in my crushed honey and comb mix. The honey gate is really well made and works flawlessly. The strainer bag is good quality also. After sitting for a few days I was able to jar my honey and melt the leftovers into beeswax. The strainer bag is really easy to rinse for re-use. I gave 4 stars because it was a little bit pricey. Also the holes in the upper bucket weren't cleaned up from the drilling so there were pieces of plastic sticking out. Not a big deal, but it made the product look less finished.
